In the past I have mixed plyometrics in my workouts on last few weeks leading to a big race (or competition before I was in triathlon) and that seems to work for me.
http://roadtoironmandaddy.blogspot.com/Miguel Vieirahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01222693736475062198noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4053030335037533161.post-25339793320755351442011-06-15T20:28:23.194-05:002011-06-15T20:28:23.194-05:00Good post. I'm going to go to the track once a week over the summer and try some 400's to increase my speed.Ransickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14084824367872613487noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4053030335037533161.post-81405537395906068862011-06-15T14:01:00.697-05:002011-06-15T14:01:00.697-05:00This is spot on. They complement each other and give you a full toolbox to work with on race day.Tri4Successhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06956192345302508941noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4053030335037533161.post-87382654825617848432011-06-15T08:35:58.468-05:002011-06-15T08:35:58.468-05:00I always love adding the intensity... I just added too much in the past and now am forced to pay the injuries.

I have seen a lot of success from people doing straight endurance for a couple months then the last month before the big race, 1 time a week, each sport they will do short distance but super high intensity.

Not sure I could do that, would be too afraid of injury that close to race day haha.

Good post.Matty Ohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13447270565189789394noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4053030335037533161.post-9626800081005322102011-06-15T07:55:57.100-05:002011-06-15T07:55:57.100-05:00I hadn't seen that Fitzgerald article, good on...I hadn't seen that Fitzgerald article, good one. It is funny, I feel that my endurance is up, but my speed really hasn't increased - this makes some great sense.

Good luck with prep!Caratunk Girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00042653100322091843noreply@blogger.com
