Boston–getting there

As I was packing last night I was thinking that I was glad that this was not a triathlon.  It is so much easier to pack for a foot race.

I have been consuming a lot of information about the Boston Marathon.  In these big races a lot of people get jazzed up from the crowds.  I think it is going to be a lot of fun.

People are screaming and shouting encouragement the entire race.  Should I write my name on my running shirt?  Should I write a nickname on my running shirt?

I could write:

  1. James
  2. JD
  3. Jimmy
  4. Jimmy D
  5. The Rock
  6. Buzz

So, should I write my name on my singlet and if so, what name should I write? (I am taking a sharpie marker).

I've seen the race four times and I know from experience that there are always people that will shout out your name if you have it written on you! I totally would!

If getting yelled at as "The Rock" will keep you entertained, do it!

Either way, we're going to need a picture of this!

I agree with BDD... you will get good comments as long as you write it big enough on your singlet !!!

When we ran Nike Women's you can hear in the video everyone screaming Heather and My name the whole time haha. It was definitely a spirit booster on the hills out there.

Have a safe trip and ENJOY what you have worked hard to get to !!!

You HAVE to put a name on your singlet! Which one? Hmmmm..... Whichever one is going to make you smile when you hear it!

I wrote my name on my legs in a Sharpie in Boston, worked well :). I think you want a name that really sticks out - I like The Rock. Good luck, have a blast, and don't go out too fast at the start when it's downhill!

So jealous and happy that you get to experience bean town.

I think you need to do something funny and mildly offensive with "Jimmy" but after a whole day of baby sitting nothing is coming to mind.

Rock that sh*t! Super excited to read about the adventure
