TDF 2011 Garmin Connect Files

Ever wonder the stats of the riders during the TDF.  I do.  I found the Garmin Cervelo Garmin Connect account - here.  Wow, is all I have to say.

For example, Ryder Heshedal on stage 12 (July 14, 2011) -
Time:  6:05:32
Distance:  130.67 miles
Elevation gain:  14,029 ft
Calories:  5,599
Avg Speed:  21.4 mph
Max Speed:  60.4 mph
Avg Power:  293W
Max Power: 1,096W

I think we have some work to do in the off season.

UPDATE - WOW - There is no power or heart rate data but look at those speeds -

213 miles with an average speed of 32.8 (max 88 mph)

Wow is an understatement

I only clicked on one other file, Tyler Farrar, average 27+ mph for 103 miles, INSANE!!! I would love to go 27mph on 40k

I be interested to see the time trial files

Wow, that is insane to look at! And this is from someone who didn't win the stage, couldn't imagine how good the stats look for the guy who won the stage. And after doing that, all they have to do is repeat that 21 times, haha

Holy cow!! Those times are crazy! I'm happy when I average 15 mph, and get up to 30 on a down hill. Crazy stuff!

Honestly, I can't believe a max speed of 88mph. I'm writing that one off as a glitch in the satellite communications. Otherwise, these figures are believable but incredible. I watched some of the TDF on TV and I wondered why they didn't report speeds. It would be easy for the network to set up a speedgun here and there.
